A Rainy Alice in Wonderland Wedding Day at Horning's Hideout in Portland, OR

Matthew and Madelyn’s Alice in Wonderland Themed Wedding

Wedding Day at Horning’s Hideout in Portland, OR

We had a crazy good time on our first trip to Portland for their wedding. Madelyn is from Houston where we are based out of but Matthew is from Wisconsin. They decided to do a destination wedding so both families could travel to somewhere new.

We started off the wedding day at an Airbnb where the girls were getting ready. It was the most lush hidden garden-like house I’d ever seen. That’s where it started raining and it followed us to Horning’s Hideout about 20 minutes away.

I can honestly say this is the first wedding we’ve done in a downpour. We were soaked running from ceremony to reception but nothing could stop them from having their ceremony.

After the processional when everyone rose for Madelyn’s walk down the aisle, the chairs were soaked so no one wanted to sit down.

The rest of the evening was full of honest laughter, intimate moments between loved ones, and beautiful toasts to the bride and groom. It did finally stop raining right as the sun was setting to allow us to capture some moments between the two of them.

It was honestly such a beautiful day and the rain only added to the PNW experience.
