John and Colleen's Wedding Day at Broussard’s Farm and St. Stephen's Church in Beaumont, Tx

John and Colleen Hartel // Wedding Day at Broussard’s Farm and St. Stephen's Church in Beaumont, Tx

Why do you want to capture your wedding on video?

As much as I love photos (I mean, hello, I'm a photographer myself), you can't capture someone's voice or full range of expressions without video. I have a lot of professional pictures with my fiance and family, so it is important to me to have a video of that caliber with them as well. I want to savor the memory of our wedding for years to come and video will allow us to revisit the joy of this day in a truly vibrant way.

Why did you pick Me?

Your style was exactly what I was looking for. It's modern and fresh! You also seem like a great guy to do business with and came highly recommended by my photographer, Angie, so it was really a no-brainer. You have an obvious passion for what you do and that comes through in your masterful work.

You guys.. What do you do? How do you spend your time together? What is important in life to you?

John and I love to travel. We believe that seeing the world together is the most bonding thing that two people can do. Through travel we see each other at our best and our worst, and I think we are better for it. When we aren't off galavanting the world, we love having a cold beer and throwing frisbee with our dogs and enjoying the simple life in Fannett, Texas.

The proposal... Tell me everything (all the details):

We were in Ireland for John's cousin's wedding in late December 2018. The first day of our trip we visited the Cliffs of Moher and as we were walking a little too close to the edge, John got down on one knee and popped the question. It was great fun getting to introduce myself as John's fiance to his Irish family at the wedding.

St. Stephens and Broussards? Why these places over everywhere else?

St. Stephen's is the church that I grew up in. I went to All Saints (the school that shares the campus with St. Stephen's), my mom worked in the church office, and we went to church on Sundays, which meant that I spent 6-7 days a week on these grounds. Broussard is in Fannett, which is where John and I moved to in June of 2018. I liked the idea of a venue being "in our backyard." I also love the fact that it is modeled after Gruene hall and has that Texas country dancehall vibe.

What experience do you want to give your guests?

FUN! We have a lot of rowdy people coming to this wedding and I just want them to remember good music, good food, and good drinks with good friends. I want people to look back on our wedding and remember it being a blast. The main reason we chose not to elope is that we have too many important people in our lives and it would have been a shame to not share this moment with all of them.
